Private property where a public school sanctioned event is taking place A child care center while children are present In the vicinity of a school bus occupied by children Public colleges and universities; may have policy restricting the carrying of firearms on their premises by employees and student while on campus State Capitol and State Capitol grounds (there is an exemption that can be filed) Private establishments that have posted a sign banning guns on their premise Private establishments who have personally informed the permit holder that guns are prohibited and demands compliance Places of employment, public or private, if employer restricts the carry or possession of firearms by its employees; parking lots are not restricted but guns must be unloaded, in a case, and locked in the trunk of the vehicle Federal buildings; (e.g. Post Office, IRS, FBI, DHS, etc.) Court rooms, jails, correctional facilities, and state hospitals; this includes parking lots at these facilities Indian reservations vary by tribe; it is best to check with any reservation before entering with a gun and obtain written permission that gun carry is allowed and where it is allowed. Verbal OK’s over the phone are nearly impossible to prove in a court of law.
