FIREARMS SAFETY
Firearm accidents, are they really accidents or negligence? Most, if not all so called “accidents” are due to ignorance or blatant dismissal of basic firearm safety rules.Ignorance can be overcome through training but intentional disregard of safety rules results in needless injury or death every year. Faithfully practice the four safety rules below and you will keep yourself and others around you safe.
1. Always keep the firearm pointed in a safe direction 2. Know your target and what is beyond your target 3. Always keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot 4. Always keep the firearm unloaded until ready to use
Read and understand your firearm owner manual prior to using the firearm for the first time. Learn all the features of the fun to safely operate the firearm properly. If you don’t have a firearms manual contact the manufacturer and they will send you one free of charge. Make sure the ammunition is matched to your firearm. Most manufacturer stamp the ammunition type on the barrel of the gun. If in doubt, contact a gunsmith. Store your guns so they are not accessible to unauthorized persons.
THE FOUR FUNDAMENTAL GUN SAFETY RULES (These rules must always be followed when handling or using a firearm)
Remember to wear and use safety glasses and hearing protection
